I feel like my baby is a boy. Any thoughts? I can't have roosters so I want to make sure it's a rooster before I send it to its new home. Thanks in advance.

I'm saying cockeral because of what appears to be streamers but get some other answers too.

Yep, cockerel... Notice the thicker feathers in the tail, too... They're the same type if feathers as the "streamers" on his head.. And he stands very tall, poking his head up really high; that's a cockerel thing ;)

Thanks.   I keep looking at the pictures and the answers and can't quite figure out the silkies (most of the other breeds I do pretty well).    I seem to do better using the behavior than the looks.  Thanks everyone.  I can now rearrange my pens.

That's why it's so hard to sex them with pictures! Lol they do have personality differences, the way the stand, walk, talk etc After a couple of roos they kinda stick out by their behaviors... That's hard to sort out from a snapshot ;)

So, these are my first Silkies and I'm afraid I have a lot of roosters. First is Slimy Bob. His beak is HUGE! Lol

Any idea on mine I think that the white and the gray are roosters and the two black are hens. They have not started crowing or laying yet

Squishy(positive he's a rooster)
