I've found the hens to be more dominant then my roosters lol. My hens were always showing force. The roosters never had to. They were at the top of the pecking order from the beginning. :)

Silkies are certainly a testament to patience. The paint was actually the aggressor. The partridge was trying to weasel between the paints legs and was acting very submissive. I've also seen my D'uucle rooster try to mount the partridge......I still have a gut feeling it's a roo though.

If it's being mounted id say that one is a hen lol. :) I was told it's really hard to see the saddle feathers on the boys but with all 3 of mine they looked like they were getting them. I was so sure. Yesterday morning one started crowing. I have more confidence in sexing my own now lol. I noticed these much darker more solid looking feathers coming in at the base of the tail fluff. In the beginning I had to move the fluff aside to see it lol. Since these were my first silkies I was unsure but now I know those were saddle feathers lol. The one that has started crowing is the sweetest and lays in my lap for pets lol. Check for those feathers. It may help. :)

Well it wasn't really being cooperative about the mounting.......of course few hens are in the beginning. Hahaha
