Aaaw, I'm sorry. Yeah, I read about if there's multiple roosters one might be a late blossomer if they're the lowest rank rooster.

It's ok. We we're fine either way. He still has a place in our flock lol. We live in the country so I'm fine keeping roosters as long as we have enough hens. It was just the not knowing at this age that was killing me lol. He has the most beautiful crest. So full. I may use him in my breeding program just for that alone lol.

3 months for me but I'm never sure until after 6 months and even then I've been suprised lol.

His crest is really beautiful, I wouldn't mind buying some of his mate's hatching eggs. Usually 6-8 I think it depends on hatchery(younger) vs breeders(later) also the color. I've noticed black/blue is faster than my whites.

Unfortunately I can't ship. I'm not certified. I plan on doing it eventually but right now it's more just for fun. I'll sell my extras off locally.

Hi everyone!
I have six silkies that are 2 weeks. I know this isn't going be accurate and this young it's incredibly hard to tell, but is everyone willing to guess? I'm not very patient.

Also, one of the was standing much more up right in this photo, she normally doesn't do that.

No way to tell. Couldn't even guess at this age.

I am so hoping that someone can help me on this thread! I have 2 silkies..a black and a blue that the breeder assured us we're girls. He claimed to be able to tell at 5 weeks old. They are now 15-16 weeks old and one of them made a sound that is suspiciously crow like. lol. Do I have 2 Roos, 2 pullets, or one of each?
