But . . . an idiot who cooks really well!!! wow what a geat thread, thanks for sharing. I have been curious about silkie meat as there is quite a market here in the asian sector. and I have also been desiring a pressure cooker now I NEED one

MMMM! That soup looks good! I don't have much use for my silkies, but I don't think my daughter would let me cook them.

I do a lot of chinese cooking. The chinese markets always have silkies for sale. They are the main ingredient in a medicinal soup that is used to treat a cold. You buy a silkie, and a special mix of herbs, roots, fungus and dried berries, available at any chinese apothocary. Cook the chicken with the herbs, strain off the solids, and drink the broth. Once I had a really bad resp. infection that I could'nt shake. I thought I'd give the ol' black chicken soup a try. It was the WOSRT THING I HAVE EVER TASTED.
