Silkie thread!

I could use help with identifying a few colors with sizzles. I have 2 at the moment I could use help with. The first one's name is Goldie. She was produced by a Calico roo and the mother is a mystery. The colors in the sizzle pen are white, black and blue. One of those are the mother but which one is a mystery.

The down is a blue like whats seen in the pic. My camera has a tendancy to mess up the colors but these pics are accurate.

The second fella has done so much changing in the past couple weeks it's amazing. I wouldn't ever think it was the same chick.
The curious one on top of the feeder looking to figure out how he can get himself into trouble with the heat lamp is the one in question. Oddball is his name. This pic was taken just a few weeks ago.

This is the same bird but this pic was taken today. He is actually black on his bottom half not blue like in the pic. Look close, he has barring and lacing on different feathers. When he was a few weeks old his legs and feet where so full with feathers it didn't look like he had legs and feet. And he was mostly brown and barred.

My buff silkie eggs from Sundown is going into lockdown tomorrow too! Excited. What day did you set? I set mine on 10/29 but I always count the day I set as day 1 and put in lockdown on day 18.

My new silkie, Kyla, is quite the talker. She makes a lot of noise compared to my other Silkies.

I'm wondering if some are just more vocal than others?

I ask because she is quite petite as well, and I'm hoping there's nothing wrong with her...

yes some are extremely talkative, some are really quiet... just certain personalities. I have some that barely chatter at all, and I have some that will "talk your ear off" with fussing. lol

The size thing, one thing is age, another is breeding. I have some silkies that are nice and light and small. Then I have 2 girls and 1 boy that are quite big and two or three times the weight of the rest, it just depends. Some breeders don't take size in regards to breeding, and more and more silkies are getting bigger than the standard calls for...While some still stick to the actual bantam aspect of the silkies - which is 2-3 lbs tops. Hope that helps.
