So, what you guys are seeing is something totally different than wry neck? Thanks for posting the pic when you get time. I knew mine was wry neck because she had an impacted crop which led to the vitamin deficiency.

Head Tuck started with a head injury and for some reason it caused her head to be held differently. She has it where her beak is held straight down with her neck perfectly straight. Thing of you bending your head down without moving your neck so that your chin touches your chest, that's how Head Tuck holds hers. There are times where I have to look for her because she will hold it more normally. There might be some residual nerve damage from the blow that causes her to hold her head the way she does.

Oh goodness. I never seen anything like that! I am sure it could have permanently damaged the nerves. Can she eat and drink Ok like that?

She's been normal in every other way, she laid until last Spring, brooded chicks, eats and drinks fine or she wouldn't be approaching 7 this Spring.

I have a little black silkie with the head tuck thing now...I believe it was because I had a mean australorp chick in the brooder and she must have pecked her on the head but I have since separated the bully chick out....sometimes she is normal and I can't tell her from the others, but other times it seems like she gets her head stuck between her legs and can only get it up when she stops trying and calms down??? I was going to cull her but when I went to she was acting fine? Eating and drinking...

Sounds like she managed fine.

The peep might not be getting enough to eat. Try making it a warm mash with the crumbles and feeding it to it. See if that doesn't give it a better start.

I had one with wry neck and had given the same thing and it helped her and she has been fine ever since.

If she's seeing what I think she's seeing vitamins won't change it. I'm trying to get ready for a show this weekend, I will try my best to get a pic of Head Tuck then you all can see what it looks like.

Am only sharing what worked for me. Theres tons of info here on BYC beside the silkie thread. It's a combination of treatments that's going to help your silkie come out of it.

Hello silkie enthusiaists.. However that is spelled.. Heh. I have a question!
I have a black silkie roo whom had chickies with an EE hen. I got 2 chicks, one completely black and one completely white. If my roo is the one carrying the white gene, what colors could I get from the white mix? And will I get silkie feathered chicks from them?
And if my roo is carrying the white gene, what are the possible outcomes from the following : black x splash black x blue black x black Any feedback much appreciated!

I give them scrambled egg as treats every two days and I have vitamins and electrolytes in the water and she eats every time I refill the feed container? So I know she is eating and drinking? But I may just put some warm water in the feed for mash...

When my chickies r not feeling well I mix peanut butter w honey and egg yoke together I also add milk to make it a little watery. The honey has natural Antibiotics and gives them an extra boost of energy becuse of the sugar in the honey. The yoke is for fat and the PB for protein. I hope this helps hun
