Update- well I have been treating with antibiotic eye drops from the vet but the little paint seems to be getting worse. Both her eyes are affected and her appetite is gone. I just dont know what the heck it is. I really dont think coryza because they do not have any odor or nasal discharge. I gave the little paint a shot of tylan tonight. She also sounds a little raspy with breathing but does not appear to be in resp distress. I am so upset:(

Sorry I can't be more help - you might want to look through the Disease thread - I'm sure you'll find something there.......Good luck to you

Sorry to here that! Check into gape worm a.s.a.p I am battling it with my entire flock it started with one who i thought had respritory problems and its eyes were closed then she got better but now i have one that has both eyes closed raspy breathing no appetite, breathing through her mouth on and off and every once in a while looks like she is trying to dislodge something.. so i looked into symptoms and then checked her throat, only to discover she does have gape worm really bad. It spreads fast, banty's are the most affected by it. my whole flock had to be treated as everyone started showing signs. I am not saying that you paint does but it won't hurt to look especially if you want it to get better.
What are all the symptoms? does she look pale almost like from lack of oxygen, eyes closed, no appetite and the eye lids kind of pinkish pale and constantly closed with a little crust or blood from scratching? any oddities like gurgly raspy breathing through mouth and nose, shaking of the head as if to dislodge something? sorry for so may ?'s just trying to help you figure out whats wrong.
I really hope you paint gets better and you figure out whats wrong!

I took the Momma's and their kids out to the garden to play today. It was a beautiful 55 degrees and sunny at my house which is really unusual for New England this time of year. All I can say is they all had a blast playing in the garden getting dirty

I did feel bad for the men but, I could not risk having them mate with the wrong color if ya know what I mean

So I promised them tomorrow I would let them out to play in the garden separately but, only if they get along!

Trouble is finding one! I normally buy from Birds and Eggs, but she's not going to be having any for a little while.
