I need some help... If I wanted to buy a top of the line silkie rooster what breeder would you suggest I get him from??
I am in desperate need of a partridge roo!! If you decide to get rid of them, let me have a looksie.
they are bearded
It's not uncommon, although probably less common than in cochins. It is especially common with people who want to show their birds at the same time as they are breeding them.
when u guys get ready for a show do u put all ur roosters by themselfs and seperate the hens from them
Ok everyone! Im back. I am almost 90% sure I have 3 roosters out of 8 silkies. I hatched out 8 in December and one started crowing recently the other two have REALLY dark big combs with waddles! Ugh mad about the quality. Anyways though when my partridge was a chick someone on here told me that if they have eyeliner they are pullets if Im right at looking at this one and by the way it acts! It looks to be only a matter of time before he begins crowing.
So just to let you know the eyeliner means nothing! I am almost 99.9% sure that this silkie is a roo..... Anyways I was also wondering does the buff/partridge color breed true?
Ok here is my match up I though about doing...
Buff hen X a Partridge roo
What will the chicks look like? I dont have a buff rooster but I was wanting some more partridge and buffs. what will this make.
I also have a white rooster I could breed my buff hen too. What would that make? Thanks!!
Very pretty-- so far, no signs of hackle feathers! This one (above) doesn't look like there are much feathers on it's feet. But she sure seems to have a nice chest so far! I bet their crest will continue to fill out too-- they are a bit irregular, but mine changed and became more rounded as they got older and got more pin feathers in.Beautiful coloring!
