Silkie thread!

ScaredOfShadows ~ Great graphic!

I am a member of the ASBC, but I found the site hard to get around. Haven't been there in quite awhile, may have to peek in again.

I just sent in my dues and haven't rec'd passwords yet. The SOS on the site is good, but excludes faults and DQs.

My silkies are all just young'uns but I'll share here (I've posted in type (showgirl) and color threads elsewhere.)

Vegas - the partridge showgirl (oldest at 8 weeks)

Porcelain? Isabel? Buff split lav peep?

The buff/lav with new blue silkie The buff's pouf seems to have flattened.

And the blue showgirl.

Still have to get a pic of the black showgirl --- if it will hold still long enough. What a fiesty baby!

For those looking for examples of good, decent, and bad traits/areas on silkies I HIGHLY suggest you join the ASBC (American Silkie Bantam Club)

http://www.americansilkiebantamclub.org

My friend Janine worked hard to compile pictures from different breeders in the club of birds of various traits (crest, feet, tail, wing, eye, earlobes, type) and there are atleast a dozen pictures in each album with most having various breeders comments on those pictures on how the traits rank. We are trying to build a learning and comparison tool for everyone new and old to use when breeding and showing.
i just joined the other day andl those albums are really helpful

Go to the Forum area (must be logged in) scroll down and look for "Genetics and Breeding" under there you will find a bunch of good threads full of info but go to the "Type Album" thread and on there you will find links to ALL the albums I am talking about. We are trying to figure a better way to 'sticky' or make it easier to find these albums (bare with everyone!)

looks like it is going to be porcelain, definitely coming in with lavender, it may be the 'wrong shade' especially if it is a first generation Buff X lavender so technically it is a First Generation cross. But yes definitely looks Porcelain!
