Silkie thread!

I'm going to be selling three of my Silkie babies on the 28th and I would love to give them all baths (their feet are getting yucky) . Whats the best way to bathe them? They will be 8 weeks old at the time.

I was just wondering if anyone has had good luck with a certain ebay seller for ordering eggs? I'm in Michigan and don't want them coming too far. I currently have 11 bantam cochin hens and 1 rooster, and would love to add some good quality silkies to the mix. Plenty of hot cochin butts to incubate right now! There are some silkie chicks at the local farm store, put they don't seem to end up with the head puffiness I love in the SQ ones.

I bought from this person on e-bay..was great! She sent 20 eggs, I had 14 hatch..I've already posted a pic of one of the babies I kept, but here it is again.

What do I have here? The front of her is black and the back is more grey. She is SUPER sweet and we love her to pieces! she looks more black to me in person than in the photo.. see in my avatar how she looks more \black in the front?

I bought some silkie pullets yesterday thinking they were black. Well when I let them out this morning it looks like one of them is blue in the sunlight

and I do not need blues at all, just blacks. I have a hard time telling dark blue and black silkies a part. Are they black or blue? One is lighter than the other and I'm pretty sure the darker one is black.

for blacks. I've had a hard time trying to find blacks and barely hatch out any.

You are right she is not a true black, she is a very dark blue. As she matures it will be even harder to tell.

Trying to find the right one! lol...these were from my first hatch of Silkies..they were very nice also. 9 out of 12 hatched. All on their own. ) I think she is selling on e-bay right now.

MinutJenkins is a BYC member as well, can't remember her name on here though. I have bought eggs from her and LOVE the results, very nice birds.

OOh, nice! I can hardly wait to see mine grown up. I have ordered more Silkies, and, decided to try some showgirls. I have grandchildren that will get a kick out of them as much as I will.

Hey guys, I'm hoping the amazing network that is byc can come to my rescue! I bought this pretty little buff today at the Greensboro, NC show...and forgot to ask his/her bday! I talked to several people with chicks around this age and don't remember if this one was one month...two...idk. I like to have that sort of thing for my records. The lady I bought from lives in High Point, NC, and I know she's on byc (and I'm pretty sure she said she knows Scared of Shadows?) but I can't remember her name or screen name! Help! lol
