Silkie thread!

I was just on the phone telling my husband I discovered something new about one of my chicks and he says, "Wait while I wrap my head in tape so it won't explode!"

We can so relate to that around here. Hubby's eyes just kinda glaze over....

Oh you have all kinds of fun in store!! I'm getting a shipment of super nice quality BBS eggs tomorrow. With what I already have in the bator it will be full up!!

I have GOT to get a bator!! I won 6 paint eggs the other day, and sweet woman is holding them for me until I get my act together....

What kind do you have and do you like it?

Hmmm. Tough call. It looks a lot like my porcelain d'uccle chick coloring, except darker. I did have some blue splash marans that started this color and they are now a lovely soft blue gray with slate splashes.

This photo makes it look much darker that it is. I think it will likely be a dark splash but the mystery element is so much fun. Thanks for your imput!

I have GOT to get a bator!! I won 6 paint eggs the other day, and sweet woman is holding them for me until I get my act together....

What kind do you have and do you like it?

I have two. A hovabator with fan and an elaborate homemade one that my DH blessed me with. They both work great. They crittical thing is to make sure your thermometer and hygrometer are accurate and it can be extremely frustrating until you get that worked out. Just because a thermometer comes with your bator or from a poutry supply does not in anyway mean it is accurate.

I just had to share some pics of my now 4-7 week old silkies, here's hoping for lots of girls

I already have a feeling two are boys, not to bad out of the batch so far. See if you can spot my theme for my Silkies, I just couldn't help myself

OMG I love the names!! I grew up with Star Trek, no one at my school has ever seen it though.
