Thanks everyone, my favorite is splash too. And I'm pretty sure I have a splash Roo and a white Roo. So I should get splash chicks with the splash Roo and blue hen right?

That will get you 50% blue, 50% splash.

So I have another pip this morning!  The other egg didn't make it yesterday-- no internal pip, so it must have died not too long ago, because I can tell it filled the egg.  I am giving it some more time before I crack into it and see what happened to it.  My luck and I won't get any more black chicks-- they'll all be either blue or splash.  Sigh.     Which is FINE..  I just really wanted a black.

Funny how life works, I didn't really want any black chicks, first 12 chicks were Partridge, then the next 3 to hatch were all black then two chipmunk chicks that turned out black and last a Grey.

blue or splash paired with a splash roo will give you splash

Exactly!! I have a hen that I do believe is a Black, but the judge listed her as a Blue. She is really, really dark and is not an obvious dark Blue. I was told by the breeder that sold her to me that she is Black and she really does look it. So who knows!

Here she is! Blue or Black?? I say Black...

SO I agree with staying away from a blue and black pairing.

Is she the mother of your splash chicks? If so, she is blue. Beautiful girl!!

Here's the chart.

The way the Blue gene works in a breeding can be broken down as follows:
1) Blue x Blue: This will produce 25% black, 50% blue, 25% splash.
2) Black x Blue: Produces 50% black and 50% blue.
3) Black x Splash: You'll get 100% blue.
4) Blue x Splash: Produces 50% blue and 50% splash.
5) Splash x Splash: This will give you 100% Splash.
