I put them in my sink, run warm water and then use the sprayer to wash them. I don't put any water at the bottom of the sink for them to sit in. I can really spray off their rears and feet really well with the sprayer, and it's easy to direct it close to their face without getting in their eyes. :)

This is Beavis with his moms. lol I'm hoping it'll be Beatrice though. Boyfriend named this chick.
This is the little chicky I found in the coop half dead on the floor, put it in a box and took it with me as we were on our way out the door to my boyfriend's brothers birthday breakfast! lol Half way to the restaurant Beavis perked right up! I brought him/her in the restaurant with me in the box. Just didn't have the heart to leave it in the car. lol As you can see, Beavis is doing great!

After the breakfast, on our way back home, I told my boyfriend we should keep Beavis for a house chicken! lol He REALLY thought about it, I could tell by the look on his face, but he didn't say anything. lol He's the one that was keeping the chick warm while I was driving.

Sanna...your pics are beautiful...love mommas with their chicks...

just wanna say how proud I am of my 2mth olds today. It started to pour down with rain and I was worried my chicks wouldn't know to go inside their house where it was dry and safe.

so I ran out to the yard and there they were...all tucked up inside with not a single drop on them...I was very proud!

oh and I think I've decided to breed paints and splash!!!! My partner said he would build me two new silkie pads for my breeding trio/quad...

I find it is easier if they have a dish towel, or wash cloth in the sink.
Just something to keep them from sliding around. They won't panic as much if they have a firm hold onto something.

What do you call this? And wonder how it came about?
Mother is White Showgirl and father is spotted American Paint
It's a pretty bird and just a baby here.
Just thought I'd share his picture, I kept him because he is unique in color and he makes a good "yard bird"

Did you know there is also a sex-linked imperfect albinisme "s^al" ? It is on the S-locus (as Silver "S" and gold "s+")

Oh no! Not another one...

If I didn't find genetics so interesting I think I would give up on chickens. So many combinations, so many possibilities for one phenotype.
