Interesting because I really did get 2 coloured just like this out of eggs marked "lavender". Is it not possible they are splits? (Carrying 1 copy of the lav gene?) My blues are either much darker (I have a couple that actually look black) or much lighter than this one or splash.
I don't mind if it's blue because blue is what I do but it did come out of an egg marked "lav" so I figured I needed to keep it separate from my blues .....
Yes, beautiful, chickensXOXO!!
Beautiful babies!!!
Is that sand in your chicken coop? It looks very pretty.
genetically speaking and visibly he is a splash partridge (thank you again SilverSilkie for confirming that) , but I don't think any breed has a recognized color variety by the name though I've seen other breeds with splash partridge... and if I were to show him that is what I will/would put on his card (AOV of course) would it ever be recognized? I doubt it. - or blue partridge would have to be recognized first maybe. I dunno! Is there already a recognised color for Sherbert?
Oh man, these pics are making it harder to wait for my babies to hatch. I am hoping they will hatch early. Small eggs. ?? Could happen.
