Silkie thread!

The lighter skin is a fault that many people cull for. The coloring of the silkie sounds interesting though! Do you have a pic? It sounds like a paint...
You're big one could be a roo but it could also just be bigger. I wouldn't judge sex based on size at 4 weeks. My for sure boy baby is the biggest but he's almost 7 weeks and is looking more like a boy everyday, he also acts like a boy A LOT! lol

Yes, good place to look for Silkie chicks. You should find lots of Silkies there. Someone usually posts information about the upcoming annual spring show on the Chickenstocks/Shows part of the forum. The spring show usually occurs around the end of May.

A paint would not have dark feathers "here and there," but rather has patches of dark feathers. I believe feathersite has comparison photos between splash and paint.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say thanks for pointing me in the right direction towards finding some showgirls. I tried hatching my own but that went very poorly. I have seven showgirls coming tomorrow and I can't wait!

When is there fall show, October? I would love to go in May, but all the girls are already in the breeding pens and I have a sale I got to in May. Hopefully I can make it to the fall show. Do they usually have a good silkie turnout?

Yup, the fall show is in late October. They have alot of Silkies in their show-ring...the judges seem to put off judging them until almost the end of the show.

There are some pretty nice birds there. I'd say the turnout is very good. To be honest, there were very few buffs when I went last. You should have little competition with that variety.
