Silkie thread!

So we got a nice little late night suprise last night! Two of the last eggs that the hens wouldn't sit on anymore hatched! I put 5 eggs in the incubator, I'm 99% sure that two won't hatch but I was pretty sure I had seen some movement in the other 3. I was right. We found a little white and a white chipmunk cruising around the incubator.

Now they're out with Mama Lila (the blue hen in previous pictures) and her black chick. The other siblings and their mothers moved outside today.

I couldn't be happier to have another one of these white chipmunks! lol I had onein the first batch of chicks we hatched this year but of course it was accidentally given away with some chicks that were going to a new home. Well, I got another one now. I'm keeping all fingers and toes crossed for a hen.

This little chick had it's own photo shoot today.

The picture on the left here is absolutely my new favorite picture!

And my model fell asleep...

Love the pictures!! The one with the cat is my favorite!!

I have a couple of questions....
1) If your humidity is a but during incubation, would you lower your lockdown humidity some? My humidity--with a whole bag of rice never got below 46%...Today/tonight I'm starting lockdown, but only for the ones that seem ready, will add the rest tomorrow when their air cells look ready.
2) I've been playing with chicken calculator....and, when I put in blue x buff it says the offspring will be 50% black and 50% blue, both unicolor with no question marks at the end....is this really possible?
ok, three questions
3) Would you prefer a coop and run on the ground or off the ground? We are trying to decide which will be better for our back yard, which is mostly sand--no grass. Wouldn't clean up be easier with it raised? We can put dust baths inside for them to dust in.
I know I seem to ask questions when no one is on, but hopefully I will get some feedback.
Thanks in advance!

I just read the talk about the lavender partridges.

Here's my two.

Micah is from Catdance lines, and Chloe is from Bobbi Porto lines.
I believe Bobbi also told me Chloe would be a lavender partridge.

We're expecting babies this Monday!
Chloe *should* be the mom, since my other girl has been molting.
