Silkie thread!

I'm going with boy. His comb looks to be pretty large at that age. Oh and now I see the reddish barring in parts as well. Reddish brown I guess. That would indicate boy I think.
You can send him to me

haven't heard a crow yet, I know, still early, but oh, this one comes right on over to me. That one and a BCW that I have in there. They are friendly. My Blue Splash Silkie in there is really sweet too. She just waddles up to me and starts talking away. Cotton is coming around. My Blue Splash has started to squat for me, now, if she will just make the effort to go into the coop and to a nest to start laying, that would be awful nice of her. lol

Boys are usually friendlier at this age. All of my boys are. I have this one silkie that I am sure is a boy based on that (on top of that he has that male beak) - those guys are 6 weeks old now. I have to load another picture to show Peepblessed. Boy beak since day 1. He is slow feathering on the crest and the comb looks big for 6 weeks.

Omg you guys! I'm gone for the weekend and I have 250+ unread messages on this topic. lol Lots of catching up to do.

They make me laugh

Love the "hair" blowing in the wind. lol

Behold...... PRINCESS FLUFFY. Names that to spite my other half. He was making fun of my name suggestions and said "if you are gonna name her a stupid name like that you may as well call her Princess Fluffy". Needless to say the name has stuck and he is slightly bent out of shape for even opening his mouth now. Such sweet revenge.
Onto the pics. This girl is probably my best bird from the last hatch. What a looker for 5mo of age.

Good for you for sticking with the "stupid" name! lol
Princess Fluffy is beautiful.

I have some new pictures to post also.
And, I can now officially call myself a Silkie Enabler!! lol I gave one of my little blue chicks away a couple of weeks ago. A woman picked it up for her 74 year old father who had recently hatched a bunch of turkeys, RIR's and some quail just for his own enjoyment. I guess he absolutely fell in love with this blue silkie! Today I decided to give away one of my Catdance chicks because it had extra toes so I gave the same lady a call. An hour later, she was here to pick up the chick for her father!

I hear that the father adores his little blue chick and he was thrilled to have a second one to keep the first one company. I guess they were planning on taking a trip somewhere to pick up a couple more so the blue one wasn't alone. And! The father is planning on building a coop just for silkies after seeing how they look all grow up at a local fair! I guess I got them hooked! hahaha

Okay. Then for the pictures! This is my only white Catdance chick. About 7 weeks old now. Cute as a button.

And the cats always have to stick their noses into everything. lol Here's Wednesday checking out the visitor.

So what do you guys think?? Looking good so far for a 7 week old?
I'm really, REALLY hoping it's a pullet. I have a couple chicks that have "rooster" written all over them. They have those long legs and the way they stand & move around, I'm positive that they are boys. But this one, I think, has a very girly look to her. I'm keeping all fingers, toes and body parts crossed for a hen.
