They can handle a lot as long as they aren't wet and aren't in a drafty area when cold. Below zero I'm thinking you'll probably need to provide some supplemental warmth.
As far as heat goes I've researched this a lot since I live in the desert. They do just as good in heat as in cold supposedly but they do need hot weather provisions like cold water, shade, good air flow and a pan of water to stand in. I'm planning on using a misting fan during the day if the temps get to them too bad.

My 6 week olds need to go out before these in the bator hatch. I only have one brooder...LOL Then these that hatch need to be out of the brooder before may when my shipment of chicks come from ideal.

Colie <3 :

I need another brooder too! What do you use for a brooder? Whatcha getting from ideal?

Right now I use one of those big plastic totes from walmart. I ordered along with my aunt I got 4 blue silkies (Hope they throw in some splash) & 4 self blue. My aunt ordered 4 blue 4 gray 2 self blue and 2 red. Our shipment goes out May 4th.

Gonna need pics of those babies asap!

I'm very curious what self blue chicks from ideal look like as far as quality goes. I think they call themselves a breeding farm versus a hatchery, well at least that's what their banner says. I'm going to set up a blue/splash pen when my current youngin's are old enough maybe we should do an egg swap at some point?

Sure I love egg swaps!!...I have ordered chicks before from ideal I ordered buff silkies they were decent quality. This will be my 1st time with the self blue I believe they call it lavender. I have heard the quality is not the best with their leg feathering and crest but I have some nice blacks I plan on adding with them to improve that.

Congrats! Brinsea makes wonderful incubators.

I don't really moniter mine the first 18 days, I watch the air sacs, but I do keep a humidity moniter w/ temp in there. Its usually around 30% or so. For hatching I keep it around 65-70%. Sometimes once the chicks start hatching it will go even higher around 75%, but if I am hatching in a forced air incubator I don't mind it going that high.
