Silkie thread!

Aoxa are those Peepblessed chickens or just some in general? Do you know which hatchery they are from? This is the disclaimer at Ideal: Our bantams are purebred and represent the breed and variety; however, we do not guarantee or represent that they are of show quality. ;) They probably have them at the other hatcheries also, but it is listed in RED type! They are the only hatchery that I know of that offer Lavender silkies once a year. I know there are a lot of complaints in the Lavender Silkie thread about them, but there is the occasional nice one that comes from there as well.
No they are not peepblessed's birds. She was just showing what they look like. :) I have no idea the hatchery. Maybe she will come around and help answer that question

Anyone ever look at Cackle's page on silkies? They have colouring all wrong. Their blues are splash and their blacks aren't black at all.

So if anyone asks me where to get silkie chicks and are set on it being a hatchery, I will mention Ideal white silkies.

Here are some hatchery silkies that were posted earlier in this thread by Peepblessed:

These guys came from a feed store and were my first silkies. I loved them and didn't know they were homely until I found BYC and thus my silkie journey really began. I was able to sell them as a trio and they have a great life! :)

So they were yours? I didn't think they were!

Kind of glad that we don't have any hatcheries around here. It's breeder or pay a bundle for shipping from Western Canada from one of the only hatcheries in the country. The only hatchery that does anything other than brown layers and meat kings anyway.

i tell you those pic on there web site  are not of birds from there hatchery, bird above a what you would probly get
Thats what I would expect from a hatchery bird. I also have an old old bantam standard book and the drawings of the silkies look most similar to these.

I had had chickens all my life, 60+ years, but when I got my first silkies I found myself watching them all the time and realized all my stress was draining away. That's when I discovered how special they were. Does any one else use their silkie pen to pray.

So peaceful!

What a good idea peepblessed. When I first had chickens (5 years ago) I would have my coffee and toast each morning outside with my chickens.( I really didn't get too much of the toast.) And it was so peaceful. I need to get back to that.

eta: I need to read the thread before I post again. sorry

Hi again  I need to learn how to multi quote: I didn't take youre comment as negative peepblessed> I just started becoming critical of the confirmation. I need to just let her grow out. Will post pictures when they are older. I didn't get any pictures yesterday of my flock. rain rain Maybe tomorrow.

Oh, I bet that is interesting. Can you post a couple of them?

I don't have any pens, but I find my houdans the most entertaining out of all the breeds I keep. Their personalities are very quirky and unusual. My silkies are very laid back and don't move around much :p I do find myself sitting closer to the silkie part though.

My bunny Frankle escaped his pen last night. I've never seen a silkie run so fast in all my life :gig

The bunny is back in his pen secure. I'm sure the silkies had a hard time falling asleep after that incident

Hit multi quote on every one you want to quote, and hit post a reply after on the left hand side at the end of the last post on the page, or at the top of the page. :)
