Silkie thread!

So after our first batch of LF chicks raised in the house for first 6 weeks, my wife said no more in the house. Second batch was raised in the brooder I built in the shed. With loosing on Silkie chick, she wants to keep them inside for as long as possible. I moved the shed brooder(3x4 feet) into the basement. She doesn't want to loose any more. The 5 we have now are doing good though. So now I have a month or 2 to get Silkie coop and covered run done.

I gave Nori a bath today, she must have had a growth spurt in the last couple weeks because she is HUGE! She has always been so tiny and now she's nice and plump

Probably from all the extra protein for winter.

Wow ... she is pretty. What a precious face

So I was just complaining the other day that my little cockerel hasn't discovered his inner 'macho' yet after someone posted a picture of a little cockerel with his chest out looking all manly. I think it was a white one and even younger than mine.

Well this is little Ace Ventura today!

Look at that pose!

And there he is with his girls and the random Cochin. The buff in the back cracks me up. The look on her face...and the fluff on the head...

Actually, I'm not so sure it's a "she".. I'll just have to wait and see.

Ace and my white pullet with very, VERY flat 'hair'. lol

What do you guys think of this guy?? Looking ok so far for 4,5 months?? Is there hope for a breeding bird? Maybe even shows?

I'll have to get some wing & foot pictures to show as well.

That was right after I got the lamp back on. They are moving around fine now. The basement is about 64 degrees. It is about 83 under the lamp. I had it a little higher when they were in the small brooder upstairs and upstairs is kept at 66. They did not like the move. But are moving to get water and food, a couple took shaving baths. But thank you for the concerns
