Beautiful flock!!

MY POWER WENT OUT WHILE I'M INCUBATING THE CATDANCE EGGS!! And..it's a warm day today, no reason. I read on the incubating thread that it's ok for the eggs to cool some times in the incubator for a while. I hope they were right. Temp went from 100 to 87 within and hr. Humidity went up. Hope it didn't shock them or something. Time for a generator! Pam
Pam, i had the same happen with my last bunch of eggs. It was out for hours though at night and it was cold. I put them in front of the propane stove covered in towels and hoped for the best. I was watching the temps and it was about 88 most of the time. I am happy to say that 4 out of the 5 hatched.

Poor Sophie, She got attacked by one of my LF while free ranging. I found her laying under the rain with a big hole on her head. She seemed petrified! I brought her inside, disinfected the wound with some iodine and later some blue kote. I put her in a plastic bin for a few hours inside the house and tried to put her back to her coop with the other silkies. She wouldn't move, tucking her head on the side, so I just brought her back inside where it's warmer. I will try tomorrow to put her back it.

I hope everything goes ok...I too was hatching some catdances a while ago and during a snow storm the power went out for almost 5 hours...and they all still hatched...

I have some black and splash eggs hatching from Bobbi Porto...not due till Thursday but came home to one chick and three more pips...I was worried that one was pipped at the small end but it is zipping right now so it is doing fine...

How can that be? I thought they had to hatch at the top or large end otherwise they were doomed? Anyway it is nearly zipped so looking good...

Green, blue, orange. I like to call him my rainbow chicken

his foot feathering is crazy. Watching him run is hilarious, he does this sort of skip/fly thing to avoid tripping over them.
Beautiful boy! He'd be great to use with some sizzle girls. ;)

I call feet like that high heels. I have a cochin boy that walks the same way! It's hysterical!
