Silkie thread!

I am so excited I just got the deal of the year. Brinsea had some of their demo models on their facebook page first come first serve. And I got an 20 Octagon Eco for only $109! My DH just gave me the go ahead to get another incubator the night before and I was getting ready to get another Mini Advance, but figured I'd put my name in for one of these, just in case. And I somehow got the last one! I feel so lucky! Now to find some Silkie eggs to fill it up when it gets here

Lucky you!

That's a great price! You are a lucky chick, Happy Hatching.

I keep that in mind. Right know I am leaving her alone because she went through so many chemicals, she looks pretty weak. The only thing I apply everyday is the triple antibiotic cream and on sundays I usually give her a oatmeal bath treatment... I leave her in there for at least 30 minutes and do my best to remove the dead skin (the eggs usually are in there) and wash her with a flea and tics shampoo. If there is no improvement in two or three weeks I will put some frontline.
poulettes. what triple antibiotic ointment are you using? quote from the chicken chick:

If using Neosporin, it is important that the ointment NOT contain a PAIN KILLER. Any ingredient ending in “caine” or “cane” (eg: benzocaine, lidocaine) can be toxic, if not fatal to chickens.

Sad, news. Teriyaki didn't make it. Poor girl. No poop in the tub or urates.
I am so sorry when you keep a small flock it is hard to loose even one of your chickens, I know it's taken me awhile to get over the hawk getting my chickens. Since my chicks hatched it has helped me to focus on the new babies. Tell your wife I am so sorry :(

Tomorrow is the beginning of lockdown for my 10 silkie eggs. I've already taken out the turner tonight as I won't be home all day tomorrow. It's going to be a suspenseful next couple of days! Miss broody is still in the house on her 4 eggs. Every evening she leaves me a giant, stinky present to clean up

thankfully it's just once a day. Other than that, you wouldn't even know she was in the house, she's so quiet. Very excited for the next few days!

What color would we call this girl?
I'm not sure with the lighting and shadows but it could be a white, very light splash or possibly a self-blue?

edit.
The more I look at the picture, probably not splash. lol Cute as a button though, whatever it is. The crest reminds me of Don King.

Thanks! Yeah she looks silver or Grey? I don't see any splash spots yet but she is only 10 weeks.
