a helmet for a silkie is not a bad idea at all it would help some silkies protect their head to prevent neurological disorders

Well, we need to start working on a helmet for silkies then. lol

Caught this photo yesterday of my broody silkie while she was out for her daily stretch. She's about 8 months old. The hen in the back is also broody...

I have a question for those who bred silkies. My avi shows my whites with who we arent sure if she is red or partridge. The question is what color chicks is possable from her. The male is white. My 15yr old is a smartypants and said."Mom everyone knows if you mix white with red you get pink"

I'd love to see a pink silkie, for sure.

You'd probably get a bunch of partridges and other odd colors.

All but two of my hens are from cat dance my girls are older moms of 2 years old and still laying well. They are sweet birds.
