Silkie thread!

Hi All,
Thought I should try this thread in my attempt to re-home my silkie rooster. I purchased three silkie chicks from a local breeder (Colorado) and two have turned out to be roosters. I need to find a new home for one of them before my yard becomes talk of the neighborhood with all the excitement lol. I will attempt to post pictures this afternoon, they are approximately 5 months old. One is a solid white and the other is a black with lavendar. Both are very nice looking and healthy.I am not asking a fee for them but you would have to pay any shipping cost if applicable.

Just went to check on my chicks and my 6 week old white silkie is limping :/ Is a broken leg the only cause ? I'm not sure how it could've happened.. What do I need to do? Is there anything that can be done? I looked it over and couldn't see any sign of damage.. :(

I would be worried about marecs. Is your flock vaccinated?

Actually, I think Sonoran Silkies said she has the genitics understanding to do a pink Silkie. At least I think it was her, could have been someone else?
Then I think someone who understands the genetics for a pink Silkie should do so!

I think Ace and Ice should go on a date with their new head gear!

I think he's ready now, I saw him let out some very pathetic crows this morning. He doesn't quite have the whole "stick your chest out & flap your wings" routine down yet. He looked like he was trying to vomit or something with his neck and head arched down.

That's what I have been worrying about. I am not sure. I ordered from a breeder in Tennessee and have had them in a brooder (7 chicks, the other 6 are only 4 weeks) for almost 3 weeks. I will contact her and ask.. :( it's still eating and drinking, but won't put pressure on its leg.. It stumbles when it tries to walk. It's just been sleeping each time I go check.

This is my first group of Silkies, and we haven't had any other birds for 3 years (had 2 RIR's when we lived in Utah that grew up perfectly and never had issues.) I swear I've been worrying/stressing over my chicks more than I did when my daughter was born!!
