Silkie thread!

Just hatched my first silkie chicks ( i have a showgirl rooster but this is my first time with chicks) I am curious to see what actually hatches I bought the eggs from ebay and the ad states that the eggs are from "blue, black, buff, splash, paint, white, partridge, showgirl, sizzle, frizzle showgirl" all free ranging together. here are the first 3 chicks (4 pics of each) and i have 5 eggs still pipping in the incubator. I am hoping they are all at least close to "correct" i have noticed that the 5th toe on the mostly white chick is a bit smaller than the other two chicks 5th toe and he is light skinned even compared to the other whitish chick who actually does have a bluish tint to his skin. how do you tell the comb type at this age or do you have to wait? super excited to learn more about silkies- my rooster is just a joy so i am hoping these little ones will be too.

It is normal for the fourth toe to be shorter but your but the combs on your light chick appear to be single combs and and the yellow skin makes me think these are silkie crosses.

bummer i was hoping that they were pure but when i saw that light light color and the comb i had my doubts. well i guess we will see what they turn into. they are still super cute so i am happy either way.

Oh my gosh, they are ADORABLE!!! Congratulations!!

All the Silkie chicks were more alert this morning when i walked into the brooding house. Took some pictures with my iPhone of the different colors we got from Murray McMurray.

You sure got some cuties!

Well, you will have fun watching them grow and seeing how they turn out.

Congrats!!! I hatch only silkies and they are addictive!!!! The roos are so trainable! My first hatch of the year is due march 5-7th. My top female- HOPE- set aside 25 eggs in her carrier so I didnt have the heart to make her wait till next month to hatch. Needless to say all those eggs were traded for fakes and I gathered 14 for her to hatch hoping to bring out columbian markings in this next
hatching.

this is her stash.......
here she is with another female till I check sat for fertility and then all fertile ones will be hers.
hope is on the right angel is on the left...Angel is too young to have a brood yet...maybe next year.
this is the brooder indoors ..so easy to clean up, and I can kleep a constant eye on mom and chicks. Hope loves this arrangement ...she calls to me and I clean up or bring a plate for her brood to feast off of.

Over a year ago I got eggs that had this description as well. My white chick (looks like yours) yellow feet and all ended up being a sizzle. So that would be my guess on your light skinned baby.
