Question, I have a Black/Black Split. Do the pullets get the green sheen on some of the wing feathers too?

i think its mostly roos that do

Hey, what are you hatching? Toulouse x silkie eggs?

Yeah SL Polish X Porcelain Silkie (Toulouse and Nori). I'm gonna hatch a few out this spring myself (hopefully!) and keep one, give one to me friend, and sell any others that hatch.

If I collect an egg but it's been sitting outside( been mid 30's) for a few hours, will it affect the viability of the egg? There was no egg at 7 this morning, but when I got home at 4 there was.

I've been reading the huge post of lavender Silkies- but not finding this answer. One of my lavenders has 2 stripes down his back (he came from a lavender pen) Is he gonna be a porcelain (I also have some porcelains from the group, different pens. Won't mind at all if he is. I'll have to take a pic next week.

I candled all eleven silkie eggs all of them but one had blood vessels then the one that was bad had a blood ring put my new silkie eggs that I got yesterday in so now I have fourteen silkie eggs hopefully they all hatch and I have little fuzzy chickens running around

I think she's okay, just feels like food now. I'm just a worrisome mummy lol. But she decided to show off for me

So thankful she is okay!

Here's a picture of my black pullet in the sun. She's not split but the color would be the same. You can see a little green shine.

Hey y'all I know these aren't the best quality but do y'all think they will make some perty babies for me ? In breeding for paint the hen has a few black spots

Both my lavenders (two in the front center) hatched with slightly darker stripes. The largest (yellow with a touch of gray on the back of the neck) in the middle was my porcelain in this hatch.

Lol yea all babies the roo is black with silver leakage I just put them in the pen together so in a month or so I'm gonna let her set on some I will definitely have pics ASAP and these are the best quality silkies I have in my reach right now but towards the fall I will have some better quality blacks to breed to these so they will have more spots an hopefully better quality
