Beautiful!
Oh My! They are beautiful!!
If it was the picture in the sun, she was about 5 months oldYes she does! I wish my little black pullet had a cushion like that.
Peep, how old is your black pullet in that picture?
They are full siblings to yours.
Very nice chicks!
Not usually, especially for hatchery chicks, but if you see any reddish color early before 3 months or a very fast comb growth, that is an indication of a boy.Is it possible to tell by the shape of the comb as a chick what sex they will be? I have my 2 silkie chicks who are about 5 weeks old and they have 2 kind of different combs. One is slightly raised up in the middle and the outer edges are lower, and one is a little more concave in the middle and raises up on the outer edges. just curious if comb makes a difference at such a young age.
Yes, trim but make sure it's not diarrhea that is the problem.Tips Please! My new white silkie always has a dirty butt and cleaning (then blow-drying) is a real pain! What to do? What to do? Can I trim the hair down there? How about a chicken Brazillian? Tips and tricks for dealing with dirty Silkie butt, please!
All wonderful birds!!

Quote: What a bunch of cuties! That green, green grass really sets them up for great pictures.
Dumpling looks so happy in her new home and with her new sister. So cute!

Did you do eggtopsie of those that didn't develop? I candled seven of the twenty four clear and cracked them into a bowl. All seven were infertile. A blood ring usually indicates a fertile egg that died early from bacteria or something.Oh how funny! I posted the last reply before I read this! 17 viable of 24 what are the odds. I'm just a copycat haha. So now I wonder if it wasn't a shipping error but true infertility. I did have one blood ring.. but the rest of the 7 did not develop. I have 4/7 B/S developing- 2/3 W-W/2, 2/2 Buff, 1/2 Por, 2/3 Partrige, 1/1 black, 2/3 Lav/2 2/2 Paint or something like that.. my numbers are off, sorry, I have to get my son off to school. anyway, good luck! It's fun to have a little side hathc- a-long haha.
