Yes she does! I wish my little black pullet had a cushion like that.
Peep, how old is your black pullet in that picture?
If it was the picture in the sun, she was about 5 months old
I also got some chicks from peepblessed. Although they didn't have to travel very far I love how nice they're turning out. They looked kind of like your porcelian looking one but darker.

They are full siblings to yours. :D
6 weeks old today!!! They all look pretty rough with their feathers growing in lol, but they're still so cute!! It's crazy to see the size difference between them all!
Very nice chicks!
Is it possible to tell by the shape of the comb as a chick what sex they will be? I have my 2 silkie chicks who are about 5 weeks old and they have 2 kind of different combs. One is slightly raised up in the middle and the outer edges are lower, and one is a little more concave in the middle and raises up on the outer edges. just curious if comb makes a difference at such a young age.
Not usually, especially for hatchery chicks, but if you see any reddish color early before 3 months or a very fast comb growth, that is an indication of a boy.
Tips Please! My new white silkie always has a dirty butt and cleaning (then blow-drying) is a real pain! What to do? What to do? Can I trim the hair down there? How about a chicken Brazillian? Tips and tricks for dealing with dirty Silkie butt, please!
Yes, trim but make sure it's not diarrhea that is the problem.

I did a quick preliminary candle on four random Catdance eggs tonight. A Lavender, Lavender pen 3, Porcelain, and White pen 2 are showing veining and tiny five day embryos!

Bonney and Dumpling enjoying their new digs. An upstairs condo with a view.
Dumpling looks so happy in her new home and with her new sister. So cute!

Oh how funny! I posted the last reply before I read this! 17 viable of 24 what are the odds. I'm just a copycat haha. So now I wonder if it wasn't a shipping error but true infertility. I did have one blood ring.. but the rest of the 7 did not develop. I have 4/7 B/S developing- 2/3 W-W/2, 2/2 Buff, 1/2 Por, 2/3 Partrige, 1/1 black, 2/3 Lav/2 2/2 Paint or something like that.. my numbers are off, sorry, I have to get my son off to school. anyway, good luck! It's fun to have a little side hathc- a-long haha.
Did you do eggtopsie of those that didn't develop? I candled seven of the twenty four clear and cracked them into a bowl. All seven were infertile. A blood ring usually indicates a fertile egg that died early from bacteria or something.

It is awesome we both have seventeen viable eggs! My lock down is March 14. You got your eggs a week earlier than me. We got a close mix of colors the same. I see you got seven Blue Splash and four are developing. My four infertile eggs came out of pen 2. The one Blue Splash that is developing is from the same pen as yours. Depending on what eventually hatches, I'm going back to purchase more eggs this summer.
