Congrats to her!

Thank you, everyone! I'm very proud of her. We were both nervous, but she did a fabulous job getting them all set up and ready to go. The only thing that dissapointed me was that the winner of all the junior was a two year old. So, obviously, it was not her that prepared the bird for show or showed the bird. The father carried her up to get the award and there was some sort of comment made about her someday knowing as much as her dad. So, it seemed that her dad was well known with the judges. I felt like that spot was stolen from one of the kids that were actually old enough to understand and participate in showing the bird.

Is it unheard of for a bird to die from shipping stress 3 days after arrival? I found one of my white cockerels dead this morning. He didn't have any symptoms other than being very quiet and still. The people I bought him from told me he was crowing his head off before he was sent but since he was here not a peep from him and now he's dead. I'm a little concerned... The rest of the birds I bought from this person are acting fine and have no sick symptoms. They aren't in contact with the rest of my birds but they are in my backyard in a different coop but still in the same yard. I didn't have anywhere else I could put them now I'm worried

If the show was an APA sanctioned show, the 2 year old should not have even showed. The age limit for youth is 5 & up. The show superintendant should know that.

Obviously, the bird ws raised by he father, so it was not fair.

Yeah I agree as well not fair. My son is almost two and I'm lucky if I can get him to even say the word "chicken" let alone help me in any sort of way with raising them.

The weather is Finally starting to warm up here. Of course half the flock is thinking about molting. Those that haven't decided to be bald were out today to enjoy some sunshine. I decided to grab the camera & take some shots. Here they are, enjoy.
