If I feed my chickens grit do I need to also feed them oyster shells , or is oyster shell and grit the same thing and if it is not the same thing do I just mix them together?

Depends on what you are feeding them. Are you feeding them a layer blend? If so, extra oyster shell shouldn't be necessary. But if you are feeding them grower you should put oyster shell out when they are at the age to start laying. How old are your birds?
