Silkie thread!

My silkie (River) always tries to fly like the other chickens. As we all know silkie's cant fly they only half *** it LOL So anyways she has found her new favorite thing. She hops around the yard! It is the funniest thing ever! :lau  I love her <3
That is funny. Almost woke my hubby up laughing out loud!

Is this true??? HELP coz I don't really want to disturb her if I don't need to??

No need to unless there is some problem that she as an individual has....Most hens will pluck out breast feathers to line their nests. It they don't, it isn't a big deal.

Thank you

many of you may know how long I've waited for fertile eggs! We have our first baby!!!!!!!! Mom is a splash, dad is a black :) Pretty sure anyways.

Not a chance. The Silkies and the hen that laid the green egg live in 2 different pens. lol And these were all eggs I had marked. All even collected around the same time. A day or two difference. I put the little green egg is in an incubator last night. It seemed like it was getting a little cold under the hens. The girls are so busy tending to their chicks now that the egg isn't getting proper care, I don't think. It zipped last night and rolled itself from one end of the incubator to the other over night!

Hahaha! So amazing!!
I have new coop no run attached and my ? is how do you all get your silkies to go in coop by themselves?

and how many of you are still picking them up and putting them in at night?
Cute photo!!O
HI there guys! I have a silkie pair that I am wanting to sell and someone asked me about their quality and I am clueless! Where else to go for help but byc! They aren't the best pictures, but maybe someone can give me an idea? They have all of their toes!

Thank you!
Of course we can't see every problem in these photos, but I love this hen. The roo is very decent for his age. I think the pair could easily be worth $150, but so much depends on your location and weather or not you are willing to ship.
For the following diagram, birds who are c/c are white; those who have at least on copy of C+ are not.

Thanks for the great chart!!

Awesome! If this chick turns out to be splash, you will know your black is really blue. :D
