Silkie thread!

Thanks! What cracks me up is that he has one big feather on each of his fifth toes that pretty much covers up the whole toe!

Haha I'll try to get one. Pretty much all of my silkies faces look like it right now, they love their peaches.

Hhaha mine love their watermelon!!!

I have a chick in a egg that's made a small hole 24 hours ago and hasn't made any progress? Not peeping as strong should I help it out of the shell?

I have not helped before very nervous. My daughters coming over to help. I had another chick pip and hatch in the mean time this one just quit.

I've totally been MIA! so sorry!

So the chicks I've hatched out from Riverside Silkies are growing so nicely. They're about 6 weeks old now. Looks like 3 splash and 1 blue. The splash are very light, but they're pretty. Maybe I'll upload photos soon.

So, I want to add another blood line to my flock, and I found someone who has a 4 months old Catdance roo. Should I get him? He is $25. He's a good looking fellow, yes? :)

If you open the incubator to help one chick, you jeopardize the rest of the hatch. How many eggs are left unhatched? Chicks that can hatch on their own will be much stronger than chicks helped out. This is my experience.

The hens have been hatching these no incubator, they started not taking care of them after eight peeps hatched they were kicking them around showing the chicks how to eat and letting the just go cold so I thought they were done and brought the eggs in and but them under a light I have wet sponge and clothes, small bowl water trying to keep the humidity up. The kids made a hole so it can breath I'm trying to keep the membrane moist and there was a little blood so we are waiting awhile for the vessels to go down and hopefully hatch the rest on her own. I'll get a pic.
