Silkie thread!

We had our fall carolina chickenstock today, and I came home with quite a few scores, everything from quail to silkies to polish to easter eggers to a pair of Thai gamefowl. Pictures aren't so great, I snapped them in their quarantine hutch.
This particular cockerel caught my eye and I instantly fell in love. He's around 5 months, according to the seller (a very sweet lady with beautiful birds). I've been searching for a large-crested cockerel for quite a while, and now my wish is granted. Already excited to watch this guy fully mature and see what he produces. He's a total sweetheart, and has adopted the tiny showgirl chick I also purchased.

Here is the showgirl chick. I don't plan on breeding from it, but I've always wanted one to grace my flock, and here he/she is! I find adorably ugly.

Does anyone have a picture of a black and dark blue chick so I can see the difference. I have a very dark grey chick. The lady I bought them from has no black Silkies and none of her chicks have been black. But the chick is so dark.

Anyone in or near the Upstate NY, Saratoga Springs area interested or know anyone who'd be interested in my 4month old Splash(?)Silkie Roo?!?

He's not mean, he's very generous to all my girls. The problem is he hasn't established his own little following, so he hops onto girls while the semi dominant Roo is mounting. So my girls have bald spots from the double teaming...the girls will need all the feathers they have left with the cooler weather...ha

I hate to rehome him he's so cute and funny but the girls are getting worn out. Sooooo...he's free to a good home/pot if anyone's interested or can help~!~

here are my three silkie chicks hatched and raised form my own flock.
their not the best pics, but can you all please critique them.

this first one I believe is a roo.

im pretty sure this is the pullet out of the three.

and this is my favorite out of the three, pretty sure he is a roo also.

Mine is only slightly lighter than your black one but I don't think it can be black.  MAybe just really really blue.  He is so cute either way.  Your chicks are so cute.

Ha thanks I really don't know what color your chick could be if not black
You're chicks are adorable!!!! Mine are already one month and a week old and
Are in their awkward teenage stages

if she is breeding blue to blue then black is a possible color.
