.Oh and these had spots from day one. Truly havent noticed if they were in the same spots i dont think so
Lady i got the eggs from has bought a lot of the parents she has now so not sure of the backgronds
These spits look to me a blue black.To be truthful the spots seem down in the feathers with the tips lighter cream. its just how i see them One i looked closely at tonite has a few black feathers Hairs? tipped in black on its head just a few black Frosted lol

Well its 21* here and expected to go into the teens. Out I go to smear the d'Uccle roos combs in Vaseline. If you told me a year ago I would be doing this I would laugh.

Lol I haven't really done that yet. They are in a well ventilated yet draft free coop so I haven't had comb issues(yet) but it's going to be in the single didgets here tonight so we'll see how everyone is in the morning! Warm breakfast for sure!

I had a pullet lay an egg in my kitchen this afternoon. She's in the house because she's naked thanks to a double copy of the frizzle gene. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined a chicken laying an egg in my kitchen.
 
I have a question. I am new to silkie genetics so please be easy on me but...I have a white roo and three hens White, Blue, and black. all my chicks that are hatching are yellow with a brown tint. What color will they be? They look almost buff colored but it's not a uniform color and I don't understand how that is even possible. Shouldn't I have a variety of colors?
