[Sonoran Silkies]

I brought 9 eggs and been in bator for 6 days. 3 of them werent fertile. But the 6 of them you can see movement in egg already. So amazing.

I was wandering if turning themn2 times instead of 3 will be bad?due to work I can only turn 2x a day.

If I keep them all my dad woukd kill me. Lol. But ill try to get 2 to keep. Lol

I actually saw ichab8d attekping to mate with lydia . But I havebt gitten an egg from hrr for 3 months.... shes only 2 yrs.

Turn first thing in the morning; turn as soon as you come home from work; turn right before you go to bed. That is three times and should work for you. Hens do not lay when stressed, and weather extremes or short days stress them. Many folks aren't yet getting eggs; give it some time.

lol pam.your birds are what im trying to get my quality up to! Mine come from nice lines and these are my fisrt hatch so hope fully they get better and better. Thanks for liking them. Sheldon isturning out to be oneofmy best boys.

That's so sweet to say! But, those are just a few that you see.. What you don't see are ones with red combs, 4 toes on one foot, 6 on another. 2 beautiful roos that are not interested in women what-so-ever! I've got to get a better white and lavender roo. ETC. And right now, they are skinny and molting (??). I just post the couple of pics that turn out well from certain angles! Thanks tho! You're are looking great! Your hens are awesome. Better looking than mine, in my honest opinion.

I have been getting lots of white chicks out of my birds.If you want hatching eggs to try for some white boys, I will have some available in a few weeks.

My flock. My boys... Chance (black), Booker (blue,dad of all of them), Sheldon(blue) , Grayson They actually have silver leakage, it looks gold in the picture. Sheldon has no leakage. Grayson is splash. Camera always washes him out. The girls... Dolly (white), Lumi (w), Belle (black), Lily(w), Henley (partridge) ,Luna (w), Ashes (blue), Suki (w) Snow and her babies. They are all white. Not sure how that happened with a blue daddy. The dinner circle.

I took this picture of Emma Lou while cleaning up the henhouse during our recent snowstorm. You can see Josie in the background, trying to get into the picture. She laid her first egg during the snowstorm! It looked like a rock. Hard shell too. Inside a very large yolk. Didn't eat it, of course.

It snowed 5 inches yesterday, then sleeted for hours to create an inch thick crust of ice. I opened the doors to see if the silkies wanted to explore any, but the only one that exited was this cockerel. He immediately jumped around like a fool as soon as his feet touched the snow (thinke floor is lava!) until he hopped up on this brick next to the shovel, and there he sat, sulking, until I picked him up and placed him back into the pen. They don't appreciate this cold white stuff that is quickly turning to slush. This white snow definitely shows up their dirtiness. He's 6 months old and hasn't ever had a bath, and it shows haha.

These two new chicks have taken the cold weather and snow well. They live out with the rest of the silkies in the coop, and they get along just fine. Mama hen has done a good job of keeping them warm in this snowy, cold weather.

Thank you! I love taking pictures of any birds in the snow, especially my turkeys, (see my profile picture haha) but it's hard to convince any of them to come out in it.

Any guesses?
If its pure its sired by a blue partridge and momma is blue or splash.

If its not pure its sired by Chocolate orp and momma is blue.

It has all characteristics of a silkie, just washed out.
