Silkie thread!

After a year of age can they still get fluffier? Sorry if I sound silly I just got mine from an auction they said 2013 hens so not sure how old they are,

Don't beat yourself up, we can't save them all. You did your best .

Oh no :(
I am so sorry, don't give up. I understand we all need time to heal though.

Thanks, I just dont know what keeps going wrong :( I have 4 of the prettiest bearded ones left and one is limping worse today and wont even use its right leg :( The others seem fine so far

Sorry I've missed a few things. Did you hatch these out yourself or buy them as chicks? The problem may have been the breeder or the eggs maybe?
Im thinking its the breeder I got them from :( Her set up was not very impressive. Chicks and incubators were crowded in a tiny garage and it smelt horrible. The babies looked beautiful on their hatch date when I picked them up so I ignored it and bought them anyway but ive lost three now, and when I went back to get another it still looked horrible and she pulled two more dead babies out of her box. I was desperate for another so I got another anyway but picked the largest healthy looking one with bright eyes and full belly. That chick is still doing just fine so far. She did try to sell me an obviously ill chick while I was there. It was the last black one left and I wanted it so bad cause I was looking for another black and I hoped she'd just let me have it but instead she offered to knock off a few bucks but still wanted five bucks for it. I chose not to because it looked just like the one I lost and I knew it was going to die. She insisted it was fine but it clearly wasent. I knew she was all about profit after that. I have done everything I could think of for these chicks and they still come down ill. I am just praying no more get sick.

I had a weak chick from hatch and I've been giving her polyvisol vitamin drops 2 drops daily and a bit of sugar water she's doing really good now maybe the drops will help your poor babies?
