fresh water and food, pulled up heat lamp more that helped. The thermometer was reading 80 but I think they were hot. They are 3-4 wks
I can only speck of my own experiences, I have had chicks feather fast and slow the chick temp guide ( as I call it ) is just that, a guide. at day 1 I start at 95 deg, and I adjust to the need of the chicks from there, some I have had to adjust 5 deg less per week, some more, just depends on your chicks. Glad you figured it out and your chicks are happy and quite...... lol have a seabright that is never happy, I have given up trying to figure her out, I think she is just a grumpy chick... lol as been that way from day 1 and she is now 5 weeks old ( thinking she is a he but don't want to say it out loud )

Hi everyone. Thought I'd share the silkie rooster that came along with two polish hens that my husband got me for mothers day. The farmer my husband got the polish from said the silkie had to go too since his bigger roosters beat up on the silkie. All I wanted was to start a nice small flock of hens for laying purposes and I end up with a very handsome fluff ball but its ok he's very sweet and easy natured.
