Has anyone ever had a crowing silkie (young) pullet???

I have a pullet that is about 7-1/2 months and she started attempting to crow when she was about 5 months, but I think it's because she's in close proximity to four roos who crow like crazy.
I figured she just thought she was supposed to do it too.

Yes! My pet chicken sexes silkies. It's pricey but good. Ordered 8 pullets. Got 7 pullets and a roo. They refunded me for the roo and I just kept him lol

Just picked up my last pullet from Parker Padilla and I am blown away by the quality. She's a beautiful splash and her vault is HUGE. She's only two months and still half pin-feathers, yet her crest is far more impressive than the 3 and 4 month girls I have too.

And the silkie eggs I jsut purchased from another seller on E-bay I have 4/7 eggs developing. The ones that aren't developing are just too dark to be able to see anything yet. It is only day 3 for them.

Thats a day 3 silkie egg? I thought that was a little too early to see anything. I just set my first ever batch of paint silkies and they are on day 4 today. I am very tempted to candle them now

Yes, day 3 silkie egg. This is a white Silkie egg so very easy to see I always do a sneak candle on day 3 on just 1 light colored eggs then dont candle again until day 7, then candle eggs that I wasn't sure about on day 10, candle days 14 and 18. I try not to candle more than I need to. But sometimes I get tempted LOL

Oh yes my first hatch I swear I felt like I wasn candling every other day haha. But now I stop myself because too much handlign is not a good thing especially on shipped eggs- which my silkie eggs are. These will be my first silkies so I am very excited so see what they come out looking like!

When did ya'lls silkies start laying? I heard the egg song for the first time yesterday but no egg... so I'm hoping she is getting close! I'd like her to at least start before winter!

Lol I have a bunch of silkie hens and one roo but he's still young. I've always bought live chicks and wanted to hatch my own this time. I was lucky enough to find a beautiful paint and it made me fall in love so I got a bunch more paint eggs from suzierd. Im surprised I havent candled them yet lol I guess im trying to be strong and do everything as right as I can so I can get as good a hatch as possible. But i'll admit ive been extremely nervous since I set them lol. I think i'll have to candle at least one, to ease my mind haha. Ive been googling pics and videos of candling eggs so that I know what to look for.
