LOL! I am dont with eggs until spring. But we should let the other know when we bid on silkie eggs so we aren't bidding against the other LOL I really had no idea it was a fellow BYC member! I am prohibited from getting any more eggs. My husband says I have a problem.

That's a really good idea lol some poor sellers are losing $$ as we speak

I plan to hatch through the winter. My husband says I have a problem too but luckily for me he's completely supportive and enables my 'problem'. He says he'd rather have me obsessing over eggs and pampering a billion birds than hanging out in bars or anything like that in my spare time. I like his logic

Hatching eggs can be a bit tricky and I'll wager that a good percentage of bidders are bycers.
Your husband has every right to be concerned, you are surrounded by ' enablers ' here. :lau

lol! oh yes my husband is glad that I am not like "most" wives. I don't usually go to the bar and if I do it's usually with him and my brother lol! My husband wouldn't say no if I asked to buy more LOL but our weather is gettign low to the point I dont think they would make the shipping. I hope these eggs are okay. it was down to about 40-45.

he says I'm not allowed but the reality is if I asked he would say yes. My excuse to add more chicks? We just started fermenting feed so it lasts twice as long so we can afford to have twice as many chicks now! LOL

Hi! I'm introducing myself here because tonight we are getting our first silkies! I already have about 30 layers, so I'm not completely new to chickens, but these will be our first "pet" breed, the first kind of chicken that isn't your basic hardy full sized farm bird. :) They are actually my son's, who wanted a bird we would promised not to cull or eat, etc. LOL Is there anything we really ought to know about Silkies that might not be the same as our other birds? Thank you!
