Silkie thread!

Here's one of my silkie hens. The second pic is of her and a chick that I put her with. The funny thing is I put her with the chick when it was fully feathered and a few months old and the silkie hen took the chick in as her own. The hen protects the chick from other chickens and makes the noise that roosters and mother hens make when they find food.

Here I am after 7 years of chickens and hatching, I"m so nervous the eggs are in the bator since Thursday, not even 5 days and I had to candle........

Jumping in, just did my first hatch....

I bought from a friend white silkie and black silkie eggs, her breeders are seperate...

I hatched :
2 blue
1 partridge
1 black
1 white
1 splash
1 red barred

My Silkies are only a month old and someone crowed today... unsure of who the culprit is! I'm really shocked! Has anyone had a chick crow this early before?

I had a couple of silkies crow at 3 weeks lol
