Silkie thread!

Is this the older chick that you were talking about? It's definitely at least part Silkie. Hard to say from the pics, but it looks like it has hard feathers. Am I wrong?

Yup just put them with "mamma" tonight
2 black ones are silkie/marans mixes, 1 chipmunk one is a lavender partridge sizzle & the 2 yellow & 1 black are from paint pen eggs

It's wing tips are hard but the rest of it looks like silkie.

Here's a different I pic of it (I dubbed it Luna, because it was born Lunar New Year) about two weeks ago. It was more yellow, but I think is slowly turning white. I'm not home, otherwise I could give more details of them.

The wing feathers looks silkied to me in this pic, but your guess is as good as mine on the color. At any rate, I'll bet she's beautiful when she feathers in.

Here's another pic. It looks like the yellow one has feathered feet, but nothing else looks silkie. I don't know what the black one's feet are colored.

I am going to guess that your little Cochin is more fertile than you give her credit. lol I have had eggs hatch from hens that old. The good news is, some of my most beautiful chickens are Silkie mixes. The darker one has a darkish beak, lighter than I generally like my Silkies, but still dark. I'm curious about his feet. I suspect he's a cochin/Silkie mix as well.
