Anytime, a lot of people just use shavings from the start. So you can use them anytime.

Did I miss the pics? I don't use shavings because I lost a few to choking in an early batch, but once you can elevate the food and water enough for them to keep it clean of the shavings should be fine I've been using sugar cane straw and chaff. Depends what you have available in your area.
I also found that the incidence of pasty butt was much greater whilst I was using shavings.

What age are they ?
Looks like a silver partridge/roo and a red partridge / pullet.

I'd say #1 is a cockerel and the other 3 look to be pullets. I would call that good odds. The pullets are blue/black with red leakage.

I use them from day 1. From hatcher to brooder with shavings.
