I know! It's awful. She's just a hatchery silkie, was supposed to have puffy cheeks: doesn't even have that... Oh well, as long as she goes broody for me
Most of mine are hatchery. One, my favorite one, I got from someone local. She has a nice crest, and a beard WHICH I LOVE, but she still doesn't hold a candle to @Mumsyll's

MumsyIII I dare say you are the Goddess of Silkie breeding they are simply wonderful!

I wanted to thank you for your advice on Baby Bear! She has not been on her side like she was dieing for almost 12 hours now and I believe it is because I listened to you and didn't advice her to death with this cure and that.
Her she is with her pals.

I have been staying up worring this year has been crazy and I have been stuck in a whose dieing now funk. Thanks for setting me straight sometimes Safety mixed with wait and see is the best medicine.
Thanks jo

Thank you for all the kind words. Truly.

As the mother of four grown children and five Grandchildren, patiently waiting for chicks to develop into their adult self's is easy compared to waiting for a child to talk or walk.

I enjoy each step along the way. It is lovely to witness.

A little pudgy Splash chick that just makes me smile.

It is just too bad pudgy doesn't look this good on me!
Maybe one day I can have some like this I am also looking towards empty nesting as my youngest of 5 just turned 16 and is the only one at home I do babysit my granddaughter 2 days a week and love doing it. She however has different Chicken picks than I do she wants to keep the packing peanuts but I am keeping the Silkies and Cochin. She doesn't call me *CRAZYLADY* for nothing.
