Silkie thread!

I have a bantam splash silkie rooster and I've noticed he has been spitting up a lot of spit like he is throwing up. He doesn't look or act sick at all though and neither do my hens. Should I be worried? He is almost 18 weeks

If you hear any wheezing or rattling when he breathes, then he could have an upper respiratory disease. Birds with crop issues will also drool. Keep an eye on him.

It's possible he just drinks too much water that his crop gets full. When that happens the water can come back up when putting head down ect
My large birds do that sometimes when it's really hot and they are drinking lots and lots of water. As long as they are eating and acting normal I don't worry to much.

Our very little Black Silkie is a glutton and occasionally if she drinks too much water she regurgitates it. First time I saw her do it - scared me. She's our problem child and spitting up water is the least of our worries with her! We switched from bowl water to nipple valve waterers for our flock and I haven't noticed her spitting up since switching. The water stays very clean since neither the chickens or the wild birds can poop or dirty the nipple water. We use Brite Tap Rubbermaid jug - portable nipple waterers for our small flock.

Thankies! They're so sweet too. Only one of them tries to boss my hand around, but I'm 90% sure it's a cockerel lol. This is the monster. Can you see the evil in his eyes? He chest bumps my hand and fingers and bites me

Wow,thank you. I've been trying to find a better water bowl for them since they always knock over their bowl and it gets dirty real fsdt
