Silkie thread!

Adorakable:

That one looks a lot like my little Buffy (my Avatar). She was the biggest baby I ever had. She was almost twice the size of her male hatch mate & now he is much bigger than her. I really think she is going to be very petite!

I decided to try some sand in part of my coop. The silkies are finally venturing on it. They were afraid of it at first. Fun to watch! (I have a couple of rockers in my coop). Miss my horses but a 30x 40 pole barn coop for 15 silkies is nice !

Wow, hope my birds don't hear how much space yours have. They'd be so jealous lol.

I have a bantam splash silkie rooster and I've noticed he has been spitting up a lot of spit like he is throwing up. He doesn't look or act sick at all though and neither do my hens. Should I be worried? He is almost 18 weeks

It's possible he just drinks too much water that his crop gets full. When that happens the water can come back up when putting head down ect

My large birds do that sometimes when it's really hot and they are drinking lots and lots of water. As long as they are eating and acting normal I don't worry to much.

@seminolewind My silkie roo plays dad really well. My little Japanese bantam hatched just one chick so now that she's laying again the baby gets left "alone". Johann will go find her and walk around with her. One day I found Betty (momma) down by the bushes but Cuteness was no where to be seen. Walked up to the coop and saw Johann standing guard at the coop door while she ate and drank then he walked her down to the front yard. Was the cutest thing ever.
