Silkie thread!

Have you guys ever seen Silkie Roosters as big as my BR Rooster, my BR isn't a real big guy but he is a LF. Some kids that hang around allot ( I call them my adopted kids ) Was GIVEN 6 adult Silkie roo's, other then the sz they look like Great Silkies, proper combs, ears color, feathered legs Just real good Roos..... But they are so BIG!! I didn't think there were LF Silkie's. I have read up on it and other then over sea's there isn't any. So what is up with this? Will see if the kids will get pic's for us you wont believe them till you see them. I sure didn't when they told me about them. The story the kids got from the lady who gave them away was that she hatched them from her own stock, Said they were show stock, and these guys were way too big to show so she gave them away. Kids said they seen the others and they were normal sz Silkies. Is there a miracle grow I don't know about??? lol
Anyway I am just amazed and was wondering if anyone else had ever run across xlg Silkies before?

I wanna see!

lol I'm trying to get her to give me pic's I sent her a txt. Will see if she will go out and get some. I hope she will.

How is their temperament? I have one that is still a baby but he's built like a tank. It's funny because he doesn't have a beard or crest yet, just a couple sporadic feathers on top of his head and he looks just like an ostrich. On top of that, he has a hugely disproportionated beak. Lol He just looks terrible.

There are bantam and lf size in Europe, however only the bantam sized were imported into the US...
But there are many people breeding for larger sized Silkies... have seen pics of some that were close to lf size here... :)

I don't mean to interrupt the thread, but can anyone tell me if silkies molt? I have one whose feathers are falling out like crazy and she hasn't laid in about a month. No one has been answering my posts. Can someone please just post a yes or no? I'd really appreciate it!
