Omg..how adorable. I want to do mine. What did you use?

I just used plain food coloring.... I had to try twice to get it right. I bathed them first, then the first method I tried was to add dye to the water and dip them, but it wasn't staying in very well. So I washed them off again, gave them a cursory rub with a towel to get the extra water off, then put a drop of food dye on an old toothbrush and dipped the ends of the bristles in water. The toothbrush spread it much better and more colorful on the feathers, and made it easier to do the head too! Now I'm wishing I had more white bird to dye...

I find that washing them in a mild soap first removes some of the greasiness on the feather and allowed the food coloring to penetrate better.

My Roos are back to white now and the hens are still pretty pinks , as they are under cover and the boys are free ranging.
I did mine in November for the local ag show. So for those wondering how long it lasts , outside I'd say about a month. :)

Beautiful birds there! I washed mine with a touch of each shampoo and flea bath solution, since they were a bit buggy. Gotta treat the whole flock this week, all my banties are a bit buggy at the moment, but the fleabath stuff seems very effective for removing the bulk of them so I went ahead and the treated those girls ahead of time.
