Silkie thread!

Sleepy Eye MN...  Southwestern MN.  Its about 45 miles straight west of Mankato if that gives you an idea.  You'd have to check MapQuest or Google for an exact route from your location.  I plan on having a few of the extras at the Game Breeders Swap in Hutchinson on Feb. 20th.  You could also check with Karen Wickham from up by Stanchfield. (might be a lot closer).
Thanks how whould I go about contacting her.

she is much closer your around 2hr 40 min shes only 45 min. Thanks much for all your information. I do real like a couple you have. If nothing works out my be getting back to you and making the drive. But would love to find out If she has any available.

Google her name for a phone number? She sometimes puts ads on Craigslist for silkies and seramas when she has them available. I just ran a search on there right now and didn't see anything for sale from her though.

She's also on Facebook under Karen Stillwell Wickam. You could also check with Vicky Peterson from Forest Lake. She doesn't raise partridge, but maybe has some smutty buffs that are close to color you want.

Thanks I will see if I can get ahold of her on Facebook. Thanks again

Hey everyone. I was looking to get two silkie chickens to add to my acreage. I currently have ducks and alpacas. My question is about the coops at home depot. Would the Summerhawk ones be warm enough? Think -40 occasionally in the winter......
Hopefully you will have more than ONE. At least 3 to help keep
them warm. Have known people who have Silkies in Canada
and they are FINE.

Don't know the Summerhawk coops. All coops should be built to have
chickens without adding heat. Others will probably offer more advice.
You will LOVE Silkies....we don. Regards, Aria

Lost my little blue bearded hen to heat stroke today.
