Mine are larger than most bantams but smaller than my Brahmas and Easter Egger. Their eggs are about !/2 of a regular large egg.

Yes, many folks just keep Silkie hens to brood other eggs. Living auto incubators.

Those are some beautiful birds! My friend has silkies, and she absolutely loves them, even if they don't lay very often!
