Silkie thread!

Yes it does but they haven't even pipped and have stopped moving. I am considering candling them but I'm not very familiar with that process and know it can be dangerous during the lockdown period. It's almost day 23 and I'm losing hope. Any ideas?
I'd give it a little while more. Some don't hatch till the 23rd or even the 25th. I understand what you're feeling right now, though. I've got an egg I'm waiting on, but I'm afraid it's not going to hatch. :/

Thanks for your advice. I'll wait it out and hope for the best. Good luck with your little one!

Babies are 8 weeks old tomorrow! We've got some great hairdos going that may actually need a trim soon

Also, I've caught a few of them (repeat offenders) getting feisty with each other. Feathers on the back of the neck will bristle and stick up, they'll straighten up and hop around to have a stand off. Is this strictly male behavior, or will females do the same? I've read about pecking order, asserting dominance, etc. Or maybe these 2 in particular are just in a constant sibling rivalry! It doesn't get violent, it's almost like watching 2 house cats pounce on each other - but I'm just curious?

My 5 or 6week old silkie seems to have such a thine coat compared to what I see others have along his body you can see it is like baby hairs the fuzzy parts you see the most are at the ends of his feathers and has been like this since I got him so I thought maybe he would grow out but have not seen much growth should I be changing anything

It's hard to tell from the photo but I think he looks normal for that age. They go through an ugly phase when they start feathering out.

Ok I am going to ask what is everyone's favorite color of silkie as the orange one that I got died this morning and I will be replacing it and I will also be getting another one so it isn't all by itself when I introduce it and so if it don't want to go with the rest of the silkies it has a busy

I got my Chicks! I got a buff and light splash Silkie and a blue Frizzle. I passed up the white Silkie for the Frizzle...so cute!

Meet the Kardashi-hens!

my light Splash. Not sure if it will be a girl or boy....

my buff....also unsure of sex just yet...breeder thinks it might be a male

my blue Frizzle....kinda weird lighting. Excited to see how this one feathers up! Please be a hen!
