I am not going to post a pic and ask if Squeak is a boy or girl....but i do have a question. Are Silkies like other breeds in that the young roos have a BIG personality? I cannot exactly explain how this chick acts, but it is certainly full of itself.

Kind of. My two roosters may raise their hackles and peck at each other, but that is about it. I thought my Hamlet was a Roxanne for a very long time because he was so gentle and mild-mannered.

I just got three silkie chicks early this month and I was wondering if someone could tell me what colour type they are?

I purchased eggs from eBay. I'm wondering if I have been sent a different breed. I'm use to silkie eggs being small and these are rather large in comparison to the eggs I have placed in the incubator. (Which are also silkie eggs) so I guess my question is can a silkie lay normal store size brown eggs?

I don't know about brown but I ordered silkies from 2 seperate breeders and put them in the incubator. They look nothing alike. The ones are white and almost normal sized and the others are a pinkish tan and very small. I'm guessing it has to do with the breeding. The small ones are supposed to have come from a quality breeder.

Can anyone help me age my silkies and maybe tell what sex they are? We got them from TSC. They told us when we got them they were a week old but they looked way older. That was almost 2 months ago
